The Qeltic Games is a grassroots multi-sport event bringing together LGBTQIA+ sports teams, athletes and allies from across the UK and Ireland.
Perth will play host to the inaugural Games in August 2024, with six sports – golf, badminton, football, rugby, pickleball and athletics – featuring in the programme.
The Games will provide an inclusive and inspiring environment, bringing queer athletes together in the first event of its kind in the UK & Ireland.
Five strategic pillars underpin the vision and objectives for the Games:
- Amplify the visibility and awareness of queer sport within Perth and across the UK.
- Champion grassroots participation in community sport.
- Deliver meaningful and distinctive Games experiences for participants.
- Enhance the capacity and expertise of Scottish organisers to host events.
- Foster the growth and development of relationships among clubs.
LEAP Sports Scotland (Leadership, Equality and Active Participation in Sports for LGBTI people in Scotland) are the primary organisers of the Games, while partner organisations and volunteers will provide support in the staging of each individual sport.
